    For the European Community according to the TARIC Code, vanilla from Madagascar being classified under the code 0905 00 00, benefits from the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the EU and the ACP countries, consequently, the applicable customs duty is 0%, except in exceptional circumstances.

    For the USA, UK and Canada, Madagascar benefits from the Generalized System of Preference (GSP) with the HS code 0905.00.00, consequently, the customs rate for Madagascar Vanilla is 0% except for exceptions.

    Sales Taxes; VAT:

    Vanilla and Vanilla Nectar (seeds) are classified as a spice or food ingredient. As such, they benefit from what is termed REDUCED VAT RATE in some countries

    In the USA and the EU this rate can vary from 0 to 10%, with the exception of the UK which applies 20%.
